Hoptoad certificate issues on HTC Wildfire

I have an out-of-the-shelf HTC Wildfire phone with which I'm doing some testing.

Recently, by incorporating Hoptoad in my web application (and enabling javascript reporting), I have run into the following issue:

Security certificate.

The name of the site does not match the name on the certificate.

Issued to
hoptoadapp.com

Organization
THOUGHTBOT INC

Organizational unit:
Comodo PremiumSSL wildcard

Could this be because Comodo isn't a trusted root by default? Or is there any other issue that I should be aware of?

Tracking code is inserted by HT code.

    Hello André,

Comodo is a trusted certificate authority in most (and, at least, all major desktop) browsers. There may be one of two options here... one is that your browser doesn't support wildcard SSL certificates, which isn't likely. Two is that your browser is checking the certificate of the hoptoad_notifier.js against the hostname of the page it's being included on (which isn't the right thing for it to be doing). That would cause it to think the certificate doesn't match the hostname.

I'm unsure of what you should do here to fix the problem. We have not received any other reports of this happening. Does it affect any other android browsers? Have you checked with any desktop browsers to see if they're affected also?

    Thanks,
    Jon

BTW, I get a similar warning on my own website on my stock Android (2.3.3) browser:

The name of the site does not match the name on the certificate

    Common name: *.airbrake.io
    Organization: Exceptional....
    etc...
